1/2 medium-sized yellow onion, peeled & diced
1 garlic clove, minced
One 15-ounce can tomato sauce
12 ounces egg noodles
1/2 cup sour cream
1 1/4 cup small curd cottage cheese
1/4 teaspoon pepper
1/2 teaspoon onion powder
1 1/2 cups grated sharp cheddar cheese
